SANDSANDSANDSAND

More fun today and pooh! I forgot my camera. Oh well, some visual imagery for you. SAND...really big piles of SAND...and some more SAND!! We all went out to the sand dunes this morning to see what it was all about. and let me tell you, there was a lot of SAND!! Ha!Ha!
Basically we parked the van down at the bottom of the dunes and then we heave-ho'd it up the dunes. Walking uphill on shifty sand is not easy! But it was fun! Boys climbed all the way up themselves...Aiden was up to the top first and Collin and Finn brought up the rear. We brought along the plastic sled that we used in Flagstaff in Dec. and Collin pulled the boys downhill on that...smiles all around. Funny! Today was really our first real hot day too...I think it got to 106 degrees at its hottest. Phew! I was hoping the nice weather would hold out longer...but the dreaded heat is coming!
After we left the sand dunes we went to the Wetlands Park where they have a nice little pond and a fabulous children's playground. We ate lunch there and let the boys play for awhile...Then home and some blessed rest!!
Collin is on nites this week so he went in to work at 4pm and we drove out @ 530pm to see him jump. It's always really cool to see, so impressive...the instructors all make it look so easy!
By the time we got home and had dinner and pj's on it was after 8 and the boys gave me a pickle of a time getting to bed...they are finally asleep though as I write this.
Bud and Linda are enjoying themselves I think...loving seeing the boys too. They picked the right time to come too...we snuck in a few cooler days before the heat today...

Eggs and oranges for breakfast

This morning I didn't hear even a peep or a cupboard door open/close...not a whisper of a noise. But he was up early...before all of us...and consequently he did what he likes to do when up alone...eat...plunder...scad about the house getting on top of the refrigerator, amongst other things.
I crawled out of bed...super sleepy as we got in late last nite from the NASCAR race in Phoenix...and struggled to wake up as I walked into the kitchen. Well... Aiden was busy this morning. His enjoyment of eggs hasnt dwindled...the carton of eggs on the counter...3/4 of the crushed up shells in their small compartments and a cereal bowl full of egg yolks...sigh***... and I must say, I really dislike doing much of anything before I have my coffee in the a.m. Clean up, clean up and oh, like a trail of bread crumbs I get to the kitchen table and here we have a large can of mandarin oranges-open and empty w/ a large steak knife resting on top of the can...oh-kay...plus some slimey egg yolk on the counter w/ broken shells and a half hearted attempt at cleaning up a dropped egg on the floor! Really, he actually tried to clean up w/ a dish towel! Ahh!! Lovely day, lovely day!
These are the adventures of life w/ a little curly headed, VERY independent almost 5 year old!
Good Morning!!!
