'The Parachute Men'

Meet 'The Parachute Men'

This was a great shot of one coming in perfectly!

They were really parachuting!

The boys had an ABSOLUTE ball w/ these parachute men that I made for them one Sunday morning. Idea came from Family Fun magazine...plastic shopping bags, pipe cleaners and some small play men (or women!) It was sheer entertainment for at least an hour. An hour for Aiden and then he moved on, but for Finn, ALL DAY LONG! and I am totally serious! He played with that thing for hours! Throwing it up....watching it come down...throwing it up...watching it come down...etc., etc. For a boy who is totally into this stuff now- it was awesome!

Interview w/ Aiden

A few wks ago I interviewed Aiden. Wanted to get a glimpse of him as he is now, almost turning 5! FIVE!
N: "How old are you?"
A: "This many..." (holds up 4 fingers-then counts them out loud)
N: "What is your favorite color?"
A: "Blue and lots of colors else."
N: "What's your favorite dinner?"
A: " My favorite dinner is mac-n-cheese and some peanutbutteranjelly" (all one word)
N: "Who is your best friend?"
A: "Dakota, she's the beautiful girl."
N: "Mmmhhhmm, but what boy?"
A: "Justin"
N:"What are some favorite things you like to do?"
A: "I like batt-in, findin' bugs, jumpin' on the trampoline and you and Daddy frowin' balls at me."
N: "What do you like to do outside?"
A: "Climb trees and get stuff from them and collect them. Tryin' to catch lizards and die-a-sore bones."
N: "What do you want for your birthday?"
A: " A big bug catcher, like my cousin has. I want the tank and more new sticks- I mean guns, some new guns."
And then that was the end of the interview b/c he was done! Walked away. But very cute.
Collin and I realized while on our trip to San Diego- Legoland and the zoo that the boys, especially Aiden, really need to be physically engaged in what they (we) are doing. Several times while at Legoland Aiden asked us..."Can we go back to the pool?, When can we go back to the pool and swim?"
I mean we were at this mecca of fun stuff for kids and all he wanted to do was be back in the pool or at the beach. Granted we did find quite alot that he enjoyed at Legoland but he probably would have been just as content to spend the whole day poolside or at the beach! Now Finn was ecstatic over the small airplane rides, helicopter rides and they both loved the huge kids playground that was 3 stories high. That was just the right fit for both boys!
I created a little 'snapshow' from pictures of our trip to San Diego, some from a few wks. ago and some from Memorial Day weekend... we had a good time!
